South Florida Community Captain Weekly Call #3 Follow Up

Dear Community Captains,

Thank you for joining yesterday's call. Here are theCommunity Forum Template PowerPoints to review prior to Weekly Call #4. You may show the PowerPoint at your meeting or use it to organize a meeting that you will conduct without the PowerPoint. I am also including thePowerPointand Recording of Meeting from Tuesday, January 29, 2019.

Thank you for your leadership. Ask for coaching if you need it. We will have a lot to cover, and will want to keep things moving. Please practice between now and the next call.

NEXT STEPS

Coaching and Support for Task Completion

Community Captains can contact their Community Captain Lead, the Program Coach, Joanne Perodin, or the Program Administrator for coaching and support.

  • Conduct Mission Critical Function Surveys, Housing Surveys and Neighborhood Skills Assessments in your neighborhood using FULCRUM on your phone. (You should begin with your core neighborhood teams and then work through their friends and neighbors to reach others.)

  • Get the core neighborhood leadership team members to download WhatsApp, to register in the Resilience System and join the relevant Groups

  • Plan and publicize the neighborhood Community Gap Review and Mapping Meeting.

    • Secure the meeting space and time

    • Print copies of the relevant Gap Report

    • Print the neighborhood map(s) and make sure there are enough pens, marking pens, stickies of various colors, etc. for the mapping activity

    • Assign core neighborhood leadership to conduct different parts of the Community Gap Review and Mapping Meeting and prepare them for success

      • Gap Report Markup

      • Asset, hot spot and future vision map labeling

      • Set up appointments when people are at the meeting for completing survey interviews with the Community Captain or agreeing to submit Google Form Surveys (email address with a sign up required)

      • Photo documentation and posting in a Resilience System

      • Video about what the community has purchased and accomplished in Phase 1 (SHORT video of 1-2 minutes that shows accomplishments and is created the way the community wants to tell their story) - who will do it on their phone, and how they post it to the Resilience System. If a Community Captain registered in FULCRUM will be videoing on his or her phone, they could submit through FULCRUM

      • Register core neighborhood team in the Resilience System Community Captain  Group, and send a forwardable group email/electronic flyer about the meeting through the system.

      • Enlist the core neighborhood leadership group to speak with others in the community and encourage them to attend.
