South Florida Community Captain Training

Attention Community Captains,

On Tuesday, January 29th at 6pm, you and other Community Captains from South Florida DRI neighborhoods will participate in a skills-based interactive training on Zoom that is focused on serving and protecting the community. Your Community Captain Lead will be Co-facilitating the Meeting. We will review the project’s overall goals and design, the role of the Community Captain in serving their community, the tasks Community Captains will complete within their focus region, and the tools and steps they will employ during the course of this project. Skills covered include: how community members submit a status report to Community Captains on WhatsApp, how to submit a community status report to the EOC Chair during a disaster, using the FULCRUM app on your phone to conduct neighborhood surveys that generate maps automatically, logging onto the South Florida or Central Florida Resilience System and posting to the Community Captain Group; posting photos and videos to the South Florida or Central Florida Resilience System online platform; communicating effectively in the field, and conducting meaningful surveys.

Make sure that you have your Zoom Account activated and you have a computer and WiFi at this scheduled time: Tuesday, January 29th at 6:00pm. Bring your cell phone.
